Ian Balchin, CEO Ian is a high achieving director and executive officer with extensive experience in technology-based businesses across many sectors. Coming from a background of sales negotiation Ian has demonstrated his skills in optimising business performance in start-up, turn-around and change situations. He was previously CEO of Stanelco Plc (bio-degradable polymers, polymer welding technology). Simon Hunt, Director (IPSO Ventures Plc) Simon trained as a corporate lawyer, specialising in corporate finance and M&A as well as intellectual property law, before moving into venture capital management with Gartmore Investment Management Limited, focusing on technology mainly in the US. He later added public company investment banking experience including corporate finance and M&A, together with operational experience through running a public company. Simon has worked with companies at all stages of their development both in the UK and the US.
Chris Wright, Director
Chris has an excellent international record of leading successful, growth-orientated, technology-based businesses supplying software, services and advanced-engineering products. He brings strengths in performance and risk management, profit improvement and implementation of both organic and acquisition-driven growth programmes to Polyfect's board.
Tim Carter, Director (IPSO Ventures Plc) Tim is Commercialisation Manager at Ipso Ventures. He has strong experience of early stage technology commercialisation, having been involved in technology management and the creation and growth of spin out companies while at Queen Mary University of London and other research institutions before joining Ipso.
